INtroduction
In October 1925, three years after dicovering King Tut's Tomb, British Archaeologist Howard Carter opened the lid to the king's mummy. Inside the large wood-and-gold coffin, he uncovered the king's preserved mummy and two solid gold coffins which were placed within each other. The tiny coffins held two baby girls which perhaps were the king's own babies. All of the mummified bodies were wrapped in linen bandages. King Tut's coffin additionally contained 143 golden amulets and jewels. His face was covered in a beatifully crafted golden mask.
